I think Peter Jackson had this moment when writing the screenplay for the Hobbit where he panicked at the idea that no one would take Dwarf drama seriously when the Dwarfs are usually comic relief, so he decided to shoot every single instant of Thorin as though he were some sort of mystical fusion of Fabio, Aragorn, and the Old Spice Guy.

“Ha!” said Natalie of three days ago. “What a ridiculous ploy that I surely will not fall for!”

“Fuck!” said Natalie of two-and-a-half days ago leaving the movie theater “Where is the nearest location where I can purchase a Thorin body pillow?”

Seconding all of this but especially the part about the Thorin body pillow.

So there's this game developing, called TUG:

“TUG is a multiplayer open-world sandbox-RPG using new technology and social sciences to directly involve players in the game’s design.”

The best way I can think of describing what it looks like it’s going to be, actually, is a hybrid of Zelda games, Minecraft, Skyrim, and something with really loving, community-involved devs (like Glitch was).

It needs funding, though! With only 9 days to go, it’s still short about $65,000! D:

Please, for the love of fuck, spread the word. Especially you, Glitchen friends; I think this is going to be a Big Deal, especially given the option for private, peaceful servers, or full-survival servers, and modding, and just- ahhh. Please. ; A ;

This does look like a contender for “Game most likely to replace Glitch in my life.” Spread the word!

Finally! I finished my rainbow of essences, in memory of Glitch.

Each bottle has some glass microbeads that swirl and shimmer around the essence, so they are fun to look at and play with. I also added some glitter to Purple to make it a little more trippy even though you can’t imbibe it! I’m so glad I made these little reminders of Ur. They’ll sit on my work table so I can pick them up and imagine any time I need it.

I’ve had some inquiries about selling these, but I’d really want to get the blessings of Stoot or another Tiny Specker first. Anyone know a good way to contact them?

Ruby Rhod is one of my favorite characters in sci-fi ever because he is Luc Besson’s vision of the hetero sex symbol of the future: a flamboyant, emotionally labile man who wears skin-tight leopard print or decks himself in roses, a man who accessorizes with big jewelry and dabbles in cosmetics. And the ladies love him. Everything about him screams “gay” according to our stereotypes, but he’s portrayed as a 100% straight sexual dynamo.

Besson is one of the few directors I’ve seen who actually recognizes that our ideas of sexuality and gender performance might have changed drastically in the future.

YES! Ideas of sexuality and gender have been very different in the past, why shouldn’t they be different in the future?
