An AWESOME Custom Order!
This is my favorite custom order so far- A Shadowbolts pin! The customer is going to use it for a Shadowbolt dress uniform cosplay- isn’t that a cool idea?

The Shadowbolts logo/ cutie mark is the most complex I’ve painted to date, so I did a lot of practicing on paper to get used to it.

Pony Pennants: Design mock-ups
We’ve seen “logos” and flags for Cloudsdale and the Crystal Empire in the show, and I made them into pennants. That got me thinking- what would logos for other places in Equestria look like? I made these digital mock-ups, and if there’s interest I may make them into real felt pennants. See the ones I’ve already made at my Etsy shop, Pegasus Pins!
Ponyville:
Looking at Ponyville scenery, lots of houses and businesses have earth pony silhouettes as weather vanes. I took that idea and made a simple graphic logo that says “Ponyville” to me.
Canterlot:
The Cloudsdale pennant uses a simplified representation of the town, so I looked at the storybook Canterlot from S1E1 as a reference for a simplified skyline.
Appleloosa:
The Apple silhouette was obvious! I added the horseshoe to make the Appleloosa emblem distinctive, and it seemed appropriate for the wild west feel of the town.
What do you think? Do you want to see these in felt?

Custom Orders at Pegasus Pins!
I recently started offering custom cutie mark and winged pegasus pins at my Etsy shop. I am really proud of a pair of pins I made for a customer who provided me with some images of her and a friend’s OCs. She agreed to let me share them with you! In addition to the finished pins, I took pictures of the sketches and cutie-mark mockups I made so that the customer could give me feedback during the design process. Thanks, Kelsey!

Rainbow Dash Blues
Color is one of the things that drew me to MLP:FiM, and it’s one thing I love about working with wool felt. But it can be challenging to represent digitally-created ponies in a real world medium. Even the huge spectrum of colors that wool felt comes in fails sometimes.
Rainbow Dash’s light bright blue body color has been especially challenging to match. Until now, the best color match I had was a polyester craft felt that was flimsy compared to the other felt I use. I made do by using a double layer in critical places. I’ve just found a felt from a different supplier that has a brighter hue and a thicker texture. It’s the central piece in the spectrum of blue felts, and I think it’s the best match so far!
In the bottom picture, you can see how my Rainbow Dash design has evolved. The 1st example used an inferior image transfer for the cutie mark. The 2nd example shows a color combination I tried out and didn’t like. The 3rd pin is an example of the pin that I’ve sold in my shop. the 4th pin shows the new blue body color that I’m now using.
It’s a subtle difference, but I’m pleased to be able to offer a dashier Rainbow Dash pin in my Etsy shop, Pegasus Pins!
Pegasus Pins Sneak Peek!
Rainbow Dash’s flashback in “Games Ponies Play” was so adorable! I decided to bring her Cloudsdale pennant into the real world using my favorite medium, wool felt! I looked at real school spirit pennants for the construction. Perfect for tacking to your dorm room door!
It was so much fun, I made a pennant for the Crystal Empire as well. I drew the snowflake in Photoshop, then printed an outline onto T-shirt transfer material. I needed a nice fresh Exacto blade to cut out all those details!
EDIT: These aren’t yet NOW AVAILABLE in my shop!!!! See my other felt designs inspired by ponies at Pegasus Pins.
New in the Pegasus Pins Etsy Shop!
She loves classical cello, he loves thumping bass: It’s everyone’s favorite musical ponies, Octavia and Vinyl Scratch! (Or DJ Pon-3, if that’s how you roll)

Sneak Peek: Coming soon to the Pegasus Pins Etsy shop!
A customer asked about an Octavia pin, so I decided to design a pair of musical cutie mark pins for Tavi and DJ Pon-3/Vinyl Scratch!
I decided I needed to get more purple into Octavia’s pin, since her eyes and bow tie add so much character to her color design. I’m trying to decide if I need to incorporate the bright purple of DJ Pon-3’s sunglasses into her pin. What do you think?
